Do you experience sudden episodes of intense and overwhelming fear that seem to come on for no apparent reason?

Do you experience sudden episodes of intense and overwhelming fear that seem to come on for no apparent reason?
During these episodes, do you experience symptoms similar to the following? Racing heart, chest pain, difficulty breathing, choking sensation, light headedness, tingling or numbness?
ACCEPT YOUR DISCOMFORT. Your negative images are understandable: you are scared of the flight, so you worry about it. This causes your mind and body to brace for the worst possible outcome. That response is built into the brain, as a genetic predisposition. When we are threatened, the mind and body shift to a survival stance, which is a natural, biologically based process. This is a fact. If you resist this fact, you only make matters worse for yourself.

Decide to accept this response, just as you would accept your startled response if someone made a sudden loud noise behind you. “I want to point out here that when you bring your attention to your symptoms, even in this manner when you are trying to help, you may become a little more nervous. Accept that added nervousness, too!”

What Causes unpleasant to awful bad breath

Anaerobic bacteria excrete (Volatile Sulphur Compounds) is a major cause the bad breath.(smells)Anaerobic bacteria are non oxygen breathing bacteria, so contact with oxygen will kill them.

Anaerobic bacteria live deep below and between taste buds, under the gum line, in the tonsils & in the sinus system. All places oxygen cannot get to(only through blood tissues)Anaerobic bacteria eat proteins found in blood, body tissues, mucus, sugars, dairy products & meat.

While everyone has anaerobic bacteria and they serve an important role in making food digestible, 1 in 5 people suffer from anaerobic bacteria imbalance. This imbalance allows anaerobic bacteria to colonize far larger areas of the mouth, sinuses and throat. This creates a jump in VSC output, at which time bad breath become detectable by people.

The smell can range from unpleasant to absolutely disgusting.
Anaerobic bacteria imbalance is caused many factors such as smoking, alcohol, medications, stress, diet, poor oral hygiene, dry mouth, Post Nasal Drip, age, low vitamin D intake (sunlight) and lack of exercise.

Next time you exercise remember you are working out both for your body as well as you breath it sound funny but it’s true so work hard and shed those pounds as well as that bad breath

How do you know if you’re Depressed?

How do you know if you’re Depressed?

Recognizing the physical signs of depression will help you know if you're depressed. If you're a teenager or adolescent who is struggling with feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, or despair, read Help for Depressed Teenagers.
Everyone gets a little depressed now and then; sometimes we feel depressed for no reason at all and other times we're sad about something specific, such as the loss of a parent or close friend.

Regardless of the cause of depression, some feelings of sadness aren't permanent or debilitating. Some feelings of sadness are easily banished with a change of pace, such as a new job or hobby.
But, clinical or double depression can be a different story. Recognizing the signs of depression is the first step in treating it.
Physical Signs of Depression
Some feelings of sadness last longer and are worse than a simple case of "the blues." Depression affects your everyday functioning and depletes your energy and interests. Everything, even just getting out of bed, takes a huge effort when you're dealing with depression. Things that you once enjoyed become tedious and difficult due to depression.
All your body and life rhythms are disturbed when you're dealing with depression.
Behavior can be physical signs of depression:
• Withdrawal from people, work, pleasures, activities is one of the first signs of depression
• Spurts of restlessness can be signs of depression
• Sighing, crying, moaning
• Difficulty getting out of bed is a sign of depression
• Lower activity and energy levels
• Lack of motivation – it's a physical sign of depression when everything feels like an effort
Feelings can be physical signs of depression:
• Sadness, misery are "obvious" signs of depression
• Overwhelmed by everyday tasks (eg, cooking dinner)
• Numbness or apathy can be a sign of depression
• Anxiety, tension, irritability
• Helplessness is a sign of depression
• Low confidence and poor self-esteem are often signs of depression
• Disappointment, discouragement, hopelessness
• Feelings of unattractiveness or ugliness can be signs of depression
• Loss of pleasure and enjoyment are signs of depression
Thinking patterns can be physical signs of depression:
• Inability to make decisions
• Lack of concentration or focus can be a sign of depression
• Loss of interest in activities, people, and life
• Self-criticism, self-blame, self-loathing is often a signs of depression
• Pessimism can be a sign of depression
• Preoccupation with problems and failures can be a sign of depressed feelings
• Thoughts of self-harm or suicide can be signs of depression
Body signals can be physical signs of depression:
• Fatigue, low energy, exhaustion are often signs of depression
• Poor sleeping patterns – waking early, not sleeping even when exhausted
• Loss of appetite or, occasionally, increased appetite can be a physical sign of depression
• Loss of sexual interest can be a sign of depression
Recognizing the signs of depression involves understanding that the ranges of behaviors above are possible signs of depressed feelings. If you exhibit one or two signs or behaviors in each category, then you may be depressed. If you exhibit just one or two signs of depression (eg, pessimism or loss of interest in intimacy), then you may be dealing with something other than depression, such as physical illness. A doctor can help you figure out if you're dealing with depression.
Child abuse, grief, failure, the loss of a friend, or even the death of a pet can trigger feelings of sadness, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're depressed.
Dealing With Depression is Different for Everyone
If you're depressed because you suffered a miscarriage, you may have different signs of depression than your coworker who perhaps has low levels of dopamine or noradrenaline (brain chemicals). The signs of depression will be different as well.
Some depressed people feel worse in the morning, and better as the day wears on. Others feel it at night, and toss and turn until the early hours of the morning. It depends on your personality, situation at home, and even what medications you're taking or illnesses you have.
Getting Help for Depression
Different causes of depression can cause different signs of depression. They also require different treatments for depression or antidepressants. The first step is to talk to your family doctor or a counselor. Reaching out to people and being as honest as you can is the primary way to get help with depression – so you can start enjoying life again!

Handling job interview rejection.
You've had your job interview; you're checking your emails, the post box and your phone. Then it comes through - "Dear Julius, we regret to inform you ..." - the polite rejection. This is not what you expected; you know you're the right candidate for this job.
Job rejection shock is a hard fact of life. It doesn't matter how good a candidate you are, one or more rejections are inevitable. Even in good times organizations usually have a number of candidates to choose from and in today's job market supply clearly exceeds demand.
What are your options now? What do you do when facing rejection? Take these simple steps and come away from the experience wiser and better equipped to manage your next job application and interview.
Contact the employer immediately
Phone or email and ask politely for constructive feedback. Ask questions like, "Where did I fall short of the requirements?", "Can you give me some advice that will help me with any future applications?" Avoid sounding defensive but rather focus on the future and suggest to the company that they can assist you by providing you with honest feedback. Listen carefully to their answers, thank them for their time and input and make good use of their advice.
Conduct an audit of your job interview keeping their feedback in mind. Ask yourself these questions:
Did I do my homework?
Did you find out sufficient information beforehand about the organization and the job. Did you know all about the job you were interviewing for - the tasks, responsibilities, skills and abilities it involved?. How much detail did you have on the organization? Did you know your strengths, weaknesses, selling points, suitability? Was the position a good fit with your skills and abilities?
Did I make a good first impression?
First impressions are critically important in job interviews as they set the tone for the rest of the interview. Did you arrive on time? Were you appropriately dressed? When you saw how the company employees were dressed did you feel comfortable with what you were wearing? Did you greet the interviewer with a firm handshake and use the correct name?
Did I listen carefully and answer questions appropriately?
Were you clear about what the interviewer was asking you? Did you respond with the relevant information? Did the interviewer have to repeat the question to get the information he or she wanted? Were your responses fluent and well organized or did you stumble over your answers? Did you get the job interview questions you expected or were you taken by surprise?

Did I show my enthusiasm for the position?
Did you use positive words and project a positive message with your body language? Did you display confidence in your ability to do the job or were you nervous and unsure?

Is there a cure for Bad Breath?

Is there a cure for Bad Breath?
Although there is no permanent cure for most cases, long-term treatment for halitosis can be easy, convenient and effective. Dentists and Hygienists are trained in the effective management of bad breath. We use comprehensive techniques and products, including PerioGuard, Peridex and Closys, to neutralize and remove odor-causing bacteria and VSC's (volatile sulphur compounds) from the teeth and tongue. For those patients whom have the most common condition (tongue dorsum VSC derived chronic Bad breath).
There are Two Types of Bad Breath:
Transitory bad breath is caused by foods like garlic, onions and generally lasts from 1 to 3 days.
Chronic bad breath which estimates over one billion world-wide suffers from. Because our sense of smell has an incredible ability to adjust to odors, many people with halitosis aren't even aware of their problem breath.
About 10% of the time, chronic bad breath is actually caused by underlying medical conditions like diabetes, sinusitis or emphysema. The pungent, "rotten egg" odor of chronic bad breath usually results when bacteria in the mouth and on the tongue cause the formation of volatile sulfur compounds (VSC's). This can be cleaned by over-the-counter mouthwashes which effectively mask these compounds for a few hours, at best
Good news to those garlic breath

Prepare for "No"

Prepare for "No"
Before you go apply anywhere, you need to prepare yourself for rejection. That's right.

Nobody, and I mean, nobody, gets accepted every single place they apply for a job. As a first time job seeker, you need to mentally prepare for someone to say, "No". There's nothing wrong with a store owner saying to you, "I'm sorry, we don't need anyone right now." However, there is a right and a wrong way to respond to a business owner or manager who says they have no need for you. If you get a "No, I'm sorry" (and everyone will!), respond by saying, "Well, if you do need someone in the future, please give me a call. I'll leave you a copy of my resume. Thanks for your time."

Dealing with Stress

Dealing with Stress
Every person deals with stress in his own way. Some people cope well with high levels of stress while others find it hard to cope with relatively minor levels. Everybody is under stress of some description. It can be positive or negative depending on the way the individual chooses to view the situation.

Sleep
The most important method in reducing stress is getting a good night’s sleep.

Most people find it hard to get good quality, relaxing sleep. They either find it difficult to fall asleep or they wake very early and cannot go back to sleep. They lay tossing and turning, building greater stress.

Sleep is essential for our body to restore itself after the day’s exertions.

Better quality sleep can enhance your immune system, boost your energy levels, increase your concentration, restore the body and improve your ability to learn.

Dehydration
Pure, simple water has a profound effect on the body. Every cell in the body needs water to survive and thrive.

Dehydration can lead to stiff aching joints, headaches, poor concentration and constipation.

Water is also vital to health in reducing harmful cholesterol and allowing exchange of chemicals through the cell wall.

Nutrition
Nutrition feeds the cells of the body so therefore good nutrition is essential to promote growth and healing, to strengthen the immune system, to fight impurities in the air as well as in food and to fight diseases.

A healthy diet is vital to lowering stress in the body. Too much sugar increases the likelihood of weight gain and can also adversely affect the immune system. Too much saturated fat increases weight and cholesterol.

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies put pressure on the body and can themselves cause illnesses.

Protein is essential for healthy muscles.

Relaxation
Relaxation calms and soothes, relieves stress, anxiety and depression, helps prevent worrying, promotes peace and increases ability to cope with life.

Exercise
Exercise promotes feelings of well-being, decreases the risk of some diseases, improves the shape of the body, improves circulation, strengthens and tones muscles and keeps the body supple.

Massage
Massage can help to relax the mind and body thus giving the body a chance to heal itself.

Stress hormones build up throughout the body and need to be excreted or allowed to disperse.
LinkShare_468x60v1

The body is a powerful healer and massage can help by sending positive messages throughout the system. Massage can lower blood pressure, increase physical well -being and heighten a person’s awareness.

To reduce stress it is necessary to look at all aspects of your life not just the obvious problem areas. Stress affects the whole body therefore the whole body needs to be protected. Try to improve each of the outlined areas one step at a time. Every step, no matter how small puts you on the right path to a happier, healthier life.

Do you cry? I cry too

Do you cry? I cry too.

Do you cry? I cry too. And sometimes, I may embarrass you by crying in a public place. (Don’t worry, doesn’t happen that often. Except in church or social gathering)
I cry at movies that aren’t even remotely sad. I cry after listening to a seriously brilliant song for the first time. I cry while reading books I’ve read for the tenth time. I cry when I pray — really praying and not just coming up with words. And if I haven’t cried for a long time, I will purposely watch anything that will make my tear ducts burst. My from-the-gut-sobs are forms of expression and release that I cannot live without. No, I am not being sappy here crying is a lifestyle I have come to adopt.

Tears serve as my sort of truth sifter. There have been times when I suddenly sob over something and I don’t understand why or how the trigger is connected to my life. I just know it’s real. My tears tell my I’ve stumbled upon something that’s true. And that makes me pay attention.

Have you noticed that crying clears your head? At least it does for me. It is achieved by two actions: crying strips off some of your analytical processes and pulls your thoughts to one central direction. When that happens, you feel like you’ve been transported into a new horizon and your old is gone a new you is born, at the same time. Giving myself wholly to the act of crying provides you a different perspective and yet some sort of objective distance. Or maybe it’s just me. I don’t know how do you feel?
Perhaps what I’m just saying is don’t try to shush me too quickly when my eyes start to brim — you might rob me of an epiphany. As with all things in moderation: crying is healthy.
Grieving with no tears is no grieving; you have to lose in order to gain, next time you see someone crying offer your shoulder for them to lean on

What is Salmonella

What is Salmonella?

A salmonella infection is a foodborne illness caused by the salmonella bacteria carried by some animals, which can be transmitted from kitchen surfaces and can be in water, soil, animal feces, raw meats, and eggs. Salmonella infections typically affect the intestines, causing vomiting, fever, and other symptoms that usually resolve without medical treatment.
Prevention

You have many ways to help prevent salmonella bacteria from making your family sick. Most salmonella bacteria appear in animal products and can be killed by the heat from cooking. So it's important to make sure that you don't serve raw or undercooked eggs, poultry, or meat. Microwaving is not a reliable way to kill the salmonella bacteria.

Because salmonella bacteria can contaminate even intact and disinfected grade A eggs, avoid serving poached eggs or eggs that are served sunny-side up.

Salmonella also can be spread through cross-contamination, so when you're preparing meals, keep uncooked meats away from cooked and ready-to-eat foods. In addition, thoroughly wash your hands, cutting boards, counters, and knives after handling uncooked foods.

Some foods may contain unrecognized raw-food products and should be avoided. Caesar salad dressing, the Italian dessert tiramisu, homemade ice cream, chocolate mousse, eggnog, cookie dough, and frostings can contain raw eggs. Unpasteurized milk and juices also can be contaminated with salmonella.

Fecal matter is often the source of salmonella contamination, so hand washing is extremely important, particularly after using the toilet and before preparing food.

Cleanliness is a key to prevention. Hand washing with soap and hot water, especially after handling eggs, poultry, and raw meat is likely to reduce the chance for infections. The use of antibacterial soaps has been recommended by some investigators. By using chlorine-treated drinking water, washed produce, and by not ingesting undercooked foods such as eggs, meat or other food, people can also reduce the chance of exposure to Salmonella. Avoiding direct contact with animal carriers of Salmonella (for example, turtles, snakes, pigs)

Take care to avoid contact with the feces of family pets — especially reptiles. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling an animal and ensure that no reptiles are permitted to come into contact with an infant. Even healthy reptiles (especially turtles and iguanas) are not appropriate pets for small children and should not be in the same house as an infant.

What are the Causes of Bad Breath ?

What are the Causes of Bad Breath
At least ninety percent of bad breath is of oral origin, that is, it comes from the odour caused by bacterial decay of food particles and other debris in your mouth. Even the cleanest human mouth harbours millions of potentially pathogenic bacteria, and given the right set of circumstances these bacteria decompose food particles left in the mouth.

Poor hygiene also contributes to bad breath when bacteria putrefy blood that oozes from periodontal diseased gum tissues, creating a particularly revolting and easily identifiable stench. Unclean dentures of any kind can cause bad breath in two ways, first by absorbing odor themselves and by helping to retain food particles.

Just as smelly substances are produced in stagnant water, offensive mouth odors result when the saliva becomes stagnant or diminishes. This is the basic cause of morning mouth, that noxious aroma that is observed upon wakening. During the night, salivary glands have slowed their functioning, and fresh saliva is meager, allowing the bacteria in the mouth to overgrow. Morning mouth tends to be most potent among those who snore or breathe through their mouths. Morning mouth disappears when you have rinsed your mouth or eaten something such as an apple or a slice of bread.

Morning mouth is also associated with hunger odor. This is a distinctive odor that accompanies the sensation of hunger. There is some evidence that hunger breath may arise from the putrefaction of pancreatic juices which pass into the stomach during the fasting state. Hunger breath is very apparent if the morning meal is omitted, even after tooth brushing.

What can you do about it? Below is a little list which summarizes several methods of treating bad breath.
Checklist for Bad Breath - Halitosis Control
• Meticulous oral hygiene is essential. Brush, floss & clean the tongue after each meal. If you can’t brush and floss, rinse your mouth with water after eating to dislodge food and moisten your mouth.
• Increase saliva production by chewing Sugarless gum or sugarless candy mints.
• Make sure mouth is moist by drinking adequate water. Hold water in mouth for as long as possible, swishing it vigorously.
• Recognize the effect of stress on bad breath and be able to detect a state of stress in yourself and take appropriate action.
• Rinse mouth with 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and warm water for one minute.
• Baking soda is an effective odor eliminator. Try brushing with a mixture of baking soda & water, or toothpaste with baking soda. Vitamin C also helps.
• Use a portable battery-powered toothbrush or other oral irrigation device to aid in removing particles of food wedged between your teeth.
• Have teeth cleaned and examined by a dental professional at least twice a year.
• Chew on raw parsley – it’s a natural breath freshener
• Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol; read the label! Instead, try a mouthwash that contains chlorine dioxide. This compound doesn't just mask odor, it actually eliminates it at the source by attacking the odor-causing volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs).
• If you wear dentures or a retainer, clean them frequently and periodically soak them in an antiseptic solution.
Bad breath that's resistant to these remedies, or that continues for an extended period of time, should be evaluated by your dentist.

Dental Care and Diabetes

http://marketing.4-masters.com

Diabetes can increase your risk of cavities, gingivitis, and periodontitis. The higher your sugar level, the higher the bacteria in your mouth, which causes these diseases. In turn, advanced gum disease (periodontitis) can elevate your blood sugar, which makes your diabetes more difficult to regulate.
With the dangerous cycle that can occur between poor dental hygiene and diabetes, here are some ways to prevent the harmful effects diabetes can have on your mouth:

The Advertising Network

1. Regulate your blood sugar: This will help prevent gum disease, so make a commitment to following your doctor’s orders for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
2. Follow the general guidelines for dental hygiene: You’ve heard it before, but brush at least twice a day and floss at least once. Check out some flossing suggestions.

3. Visit your dentist at least twice a year for routine cleanings and checkups–and be sure you remind your dentist of your diabetes. If you are having dental surgery, be sure to discuss proper ways to prevent infections with your doctor and dentist.
4. Consistently monitor for gum disease: Talk to your dentist about the signs and symptoms, and check frequently.

5. Quit smoking: If you smoke, your risks of diabetes-related issues increase exponentially. Ask your doctor for some ways to assist you in quitting smoking.
Don’t let your diabetes rob you of a healthy and attractive smile. Team up with your doctor and dentist in order to maintain positive dental health care.

What is Gestational Diabetes?

Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that starts during pregnancy. If you have diabetes, your body isn't able to use the sugar (glucose) in your blood
The good news is that gestational diabetes can be controlled and usually goes away after pregnancy. Starting treatment early lowers the risk to you and your baby. Treatment includes diet, exercise, and sometimes medication:
Diet . A dietitian or diabetes educator can help you get on the right meal plan. Your diet should include lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole-grains. Calorie intake from fats should be less than 30 percent. You may need to eat smaller meals and supplement your diet with healthy snacks http://adf.ly/2mRI . Exercise helps keep your pregnancy weight gain from getting out of control, and helps regulate blood sugar. Physical activities such as walking or swimming are good examples..

Ask you doctor what type of exercise is safe for you. Try to work your way up to about 30 minutes of activity a day. Let your doctor know right away if you experience any back pain, contractions, or dizziness.
Keeping track of blood sugar. Your doctor will do regular blood tests to see if your exercise and diet plans are keeping your blood sugar under control. You may need to use a device called a glucose monitor at home to check your blood sugar several times a day. In some cases you may need to take insulin medication. Insulin does not cross into your baby’s body and is not harmful to him. But check with your doctor
It may take a few weeks after giving birth before your gestational diabetes goes away. It is important to remember that the risk for type 2 diabetes will continue. You can decrease your risk by continuing the healthy diet and exercise plan you followed during your pregnancy. Ask your doctors what a reasonable weight target is for you. If you are overweight, losing just 5 to 7 percent of your body weight can reduce your chance of developing type 2diabetes in the future.
Gestational diabetes is a serious concern, but along with your doctors, dietitian, and diabetes educator, you can keep your blood sugar under control and have a healthy pregnancy

TOO LITTLE SLEEP RAISES DIABETES RISK

TOO LITTLE SLEEP RAISES DIABETES RISK
People who get fewer than six hours of sleep at night are prone to abnormal blood sugar levels, possibly putting them at risk for diabetes, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.
They said people in a study who slept less than six hours were 4.5 times more likely to develop abnormal blood sugar Readings in six years compared with those who slept longer.

"This study supports growing evidence of the association of inadequate sleep with adverse health issues," according to the researcher at the University at Buffalo, they found a relationship to other Cardiovascular Disease.
Several studies have shown negative health consequences related to getting too little sleep. In children, studies showed it raises the risk of obesity, depression and high blood pressure.

In older adults, it increases the risk of falls. And in the middle aged, it raises the risk of infections, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
Adults typically need between seven and nine hours of nightly sleep, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The researcher wanted to see if lack of sleep might be raising the risk for type 2 diabetes, the kind that is being driven by rising rates of obesity and sedentary lifestyles. It develops when the body makes too much insulin and does not efficiently use the insulin it makes, a condition known as insulin resistance.
Using data from a large, six-year study, they identified 91 people whose blood sugar rose during the study period and compared them to 273 people whose glucose levels remained in the normal range.
They found the short sleepers were far more likely to develop impaired fasting glucose — a condition that can lead to type 2 diabetes — during the study period than those who slept six to eight hours.
That difference held even after adjusting for age, obesity, heart rate, high blood pressure, family history of diabetes and symptoms of depression.
"The findings will hopefully spur additional research into this very complex area of sleep and illness," part 2 to follow on sleep and illness.

Cultivating the habit to save is essential

Cultivating the habit to save is essential if you want to be financially free. A lot of people desire to do this but seem to fail at their attempts. This article gives useful tips on how to discipline yourself to save regularly.
Savings is typically used to preserving money for future use by putting it on deposit. This is distinct from investment where there is an element of risk. Savings is important because there will come a time when you will have needs to meet but will not be earning money anymore. You therefore should use the time when you can earn to raise funds for the time when you are not earning anymore.

When do you start saving? Some people wonder when is the right time to start saving, some are of the opinion that they should start saving when they start earning enough, but that is a bad idea, it is good to start saving early once you start working and when you are young. Starting early leads to a huge accumulation of wealth that retirement.
To be able to achieve the habit of saving regularly successfully, you need to do the following:
Live within your means, cut your coat according to your size, and do not let others determine how you will live your life. Be realistic and stay off expenses you know you cannot keep up with.
Do not make credit a part of your life. Shy away from salary advances, credits cards and any spend now, pay later schemes.
Take full responsibility of your finances.
Just be content with the little you can afford.
Do you know that it is not what you earn but what you keep that determines your financial success?
A lot of people earn fat paychecks but are worth nothing and have nothing to show for it, they blow every dime they earn. Don’t be like that. Saving is important, once you earn the money, set aside what you will save before allocating the balance to your needs and cut those needs according to what the balance can afford.
You can start by saving what you can afford, and then gradually increase it. Put the savings where you cannot easily reach it. Strike a balance between your saving and consumption so you are not tempted to break your saving. To help you have enough to save, cut your expenses, take economy class instead of business or first class when flying, draw up a list before going for shopping and stick to it

You have chosen to work from home… so what?

You have chosen to work from home… so what?
Not that long ago, if you told someone you worked from home or you had a home office, they might have looked at you funny, or not taken you seriously.
But that was then… this is now. For many entrepreneurs, home is now where the office (as well as the heart) is.
Whether you are new to the reality of a home office or you are a veteran with years under your belt, it’s important to focus on what really matters and makes sense for you and your business — and to avoid wasting time on what doesn’t matter.
What’s most important is the work you do and the business you build — not the chair you sit in or the window you gaze through during the day.
Here are some key points to keep in mind when it comes to making the most of your home office:
Size doesn’t matter… but feel does. Your home office doesn’t need to be the hugest or fanciest to be the best (for you). It does need to feel right, though.
It should be a place in which you feel productive, inspired, efficient and calm.
Take some time to set it up in a way that works for you on every level.
The biggest ideas can be implemented in the tiniest of spaces, so don’t fixate on size; focus instead on your business: your plan, your vision, and your goals.
When possible, this space should be just your office — not your storage room, game room, recreation room, pantry or mud room.
when it comes to your home office: No matter where your office is in your home, how you have it set up, how small (or large) it may be or any other of its characteristics, you want it to be separate from the rest of your living or sleeping areas

Successful project management skills

How good are you in managing your project?

Successful project management skills are a fundamental necessity that every project manager should possess. This makes one to be able to stand out from the rest due to his or her astounding potentials relayed towards the achievement of organizational set goals. One should strive to acquire ideal knowledge and outright awareness of the application of these skills in real situations at all time and not just to bank on the theoretical aspects without practical output.

A project manager should be able to identify the key areas that at all time affect the smooth running of activities either positively or negatively. For the successful management of any project, one should bear in mind the following:-
a) Time – Always be within the set time limit and always strive to beat your deadlines.

managing or coaching what is the Solution?

http://gracelandtk.4-masters.com

Given the current state of business today, almost all leaders are concerned with a few predictable and problematic areas:
* Doing more with fewer resources
* Employee engagement and commitment
* Succession planning

Most clients I have worked with in the past believe coaching is the key to unlock the doors to some of the answers inspiring employees in challenging times, growing employee skill sets, delegating more tasks, empowering employees to take on larger responsibility.

However, most managers do not know how to successfully coach employees.
What does coaching mean to you? When we ask leaders this question, they often reply, “Telling people what you want them to do.” Yet most people tend to resist being told what to do. Change is hard to accept and it will always be resisted no matter how good it maybe: There are various reason that people resist change:

    * Lack of respect or trust for the person offering the solution

    * The person may not completely understand your situation

    * The advice doesn’t support or confirm to your own ideas

    * You’d already tried what the person suggested and it didn’t work
Why do leaders continue to give advice and direct solutions (“telling people what you want them to do”) why are there many reasons that advice doesn’t work? One reason is that most leaders have never seen a different (and more effective) model for really growing and coaching employees. When leaders provide advice and bark orders, they do not engender employee engagement; they do not grow the capability of their employees; they do not inspire employees to take on more complex assignments.

So what is effective coaching and how does it work? To answer this, Graceland tk will offer the solution as to what makes: what makes the best leaders-as-coaches most effective. We have researched the key competencies that differentiate the most effective coaches. We have studied other helping professions and related fields. While the sum of this research cannot be presented in a single blog entry, we are excited to share some very useful and practical techniques.

Emergency management

Emergency management (or disaster management) is the discipline of dealing with and avoiding risks. It is a discipline that involves preparing for disaster before it occurs, disaster response (e.g., emergency evacuation, quarantine, mass decontamination, etc.), and supporting, and rebuilding society after natural or human-made disasters have occurred. In general, any Emergency management is the continuous process by which all individuals, groups, and communities manage hazards in an effort to avoid or ameliorate the impact of disasters resulting from the hazards. Actions taken depend in part on perceptions of risk of those exposed. Effective emergency management relies on thorough integration of emergency plans at all levels of government and non-government involvement. Activities at each level
Emergency Management is one of a number of terms which, since the end of the Cold War, have largely replaced Civil defense, whose original focus was protecting civilians from military attack. The thinking today focuses on a more general intent to protect the civilian population in times of peace as well as in times of calamity.
What do think are we well prepared for the disasters to come now or in future and what we do? should we be faced by a situation like what happened in Haiti or in Chile? When they were struck by the earth-quakes? Are our governments prepared with the trained personnel and resources should such a disaster occur? And how stable are our new building that are mushroom everywhere everyday?

Euthanasia

Why Euthanasia should not be legalized
Euthanasia also known as mercy killing is a way of painlessly terminating one’s life with the "humane" motive of ending his suffering and is mercy killing humane?

Mercy killing is morally incorrect and should be forbidden by law. It’s a homicide and murdering another human cannot be rationalized under any circumstances.

Human life deserves exceptional security and protection. Advanced medical technology has made it possible to enhance human life span and quality of life. Palliative care and rehabilitation centers are better alternatives to help disabled or patients approaching death live a pain-free and better life.

Family members influencing the patient’s decision into euthanasia for personal gains like wealth inheritance is another issue. You can’t be really sure if the decision towards assisted suicide is voluntary or forced by others.

Even doctors cannot predict firmly about period of death and whether there is a possibility of remission or recovery with other advanced treatments. So, implementing euthanasia would mean many unlawful deaths that could have well survived later. Legalizing euthanasia would be like empowering law abusers and increasing distrust of patients towards doctors.

Mercy killing would cause decline in medical care and cause victimization of the most vulnerable society. Would mercy killing transform itself from the "right to die" to "right to kill"?

Apart from the above reasons, there is a greater possibility of euthanasia being mishandled.

How would one assess whether a disorder of mental nature qualifies mercy killing? What if the pain threshold is below optimum and the patient perceives the circumstances to be not worthy of living? How would one know whether the wish to die is the result of unbalanced thought process or a logical decision in mentally ill patients? What if the individual chooses assisted suicide as an option and the family wouldn’t agree?

Legalizing euthanasia is like sentencing anybody sick a death penalty, which is inhuman and cruel. One should be given care until the last breath and let us not try to justify murder which is motivated by ill motive

AFTER LOSING YOUR JOB – NOW WHAT NEXT?

Losing your job is a dramatic and often devastating life event. As I stated in my previous blog; because many people spend more time at the workplace then they do with their families, being fired can have both emotional and physiological effects that match; or exceed the feelings felt in losing a loved or a divorce.
The challenge for many fired employees is to navigate their way through the legal issues of wrongful dismissal while
coping with these feelings of loss.
To do this, it often makes sense to get legal advice from a lawyer or someone who is familiar with or who specializes in employment law. Employment contracts can be written or oral. Unless you have been fired for “cause" (more on cause below), you are most likely entitled to receive from your employer sufficient notice of when your employment relationship will end. Failure to provide you with such notice, or payment in lieu of such notice (severance), may be a breach of your employment contract and you may sue your employer for damages.
Please note the idea behind “notice” or severance is to prepare you to cope with the loss of you job and give you time to find a similar job with similar pay. Severance payments by employers are often made as a lump sum, but can be made as "salary continuance", which means that you will receive your salary during the notice period. This will depend on the agreement that you reach with your employer that form of payment

How Much Notice are you entitled to?
This should be well defined in the terms and conditions before you sign the contract read through, if you do not understand seek advise from a labour or a consultant its your life you are committing; one thing to remember you should never be in a hurry to sign the contract take you time. The employer took time before they hired you; you had to go through interview which sometime takes week before you get your result so take your time.
One of the things to remember is how much notice, or money in lieu of notice, an employer must give you upon a dismissal. In some case it could be up to eight week (if you have more than eight years of service) if you are faced with such a situation seek legal advice. You may be entitled to a much higher award of severance if you had a wrongful dismissal. Such issues that can led to wrongful dismissal would include, having regard to the character of the employment, the length of service of the servant, the age
of the servant and the availability of similar employment, having regard to
the experience, training and qualifications of the servant.” contact a lawyer, he or she maybe able to help you and earn you what you deserve.

Does my Employer have Cause to Fire Me?
The answer to this question is Yes Sometimes an employer will say that they had "just cause" to fire you. The employer does not have to give you any notice
of your dismissal or pay you any severance in lieu of such notice. In case of theft that the employee has actually committed but if not and the employer cannot prove you actually committed the crime, contacting an employment lawyer is the first thing you should do when faced with this situation.

Remember Doing Such A Good Job!
One thing that surprises many employees is being fired; do not be surprised; that you have been fired even after being voted the employee of the month. The reality is that employers can dismiss any employee they choose so long as the reason for dismissal
does not violate human rights or employment-related legislation and the employer gives the employee a reasonable amount of notice that the employee will be dismissed or pays the employee severance in lieu of that notice.

Remember, employers pay you a salary for the hard work you do and at the end of the day, when the employment relationship is over, don't expect more than a reasonable amount of severance at the same time don't expect less either! Take what is yours and leave in good terms you may need that employer for you reference in you future job search
